THE TIPPING POINT!
Can you believe it? Its mid January already. We were just celebrating the change of year just the other day.
How are you getting on with your plans for 2012? Have you decided what you want? Have you identified what you are leaving behind? Have you started anything? Have you finished anything? I can just hear you now! AhHaeeem?!*% I doth protest and procrastinate too hard!!!
Dont worry folks I know exactly how you feel. I have said it before and will say it again, IT is easier said than done! That does not mean you should give up, far from it. OK! let us review a few things to get ourselves back on track.
I wonder if you noticed that 2012 actually began in December 2011. Remember the vibe! the reflective discussions about what happened during the year, what we were going to do and what we were not putting up with anymore. Many of us thought deeply about our hopes for the future and began to come to terms with what we felt we couldn't have.
We stood on the scales of change, one foot in 2011 and the other firmly planted in 2012, balancing..... with our dreams and aspirations ready for the tipping point. Ready to hit the ground running into 2012. And then what!
A word here and a word there, "who you?" "Are you sure you can do that" Your best laid plans met with impolite silences that said it all. Then doubt sets in, "Well maybe I shouldn't" or "I will just wait until...blah blah blah" and then you drop into the space where nothing moves, nothing is happening and nothing ever will... Until you decide to make the change, until you decide? you are at the tipping point.
Why? As I am telling you this, I'm telling myself. Ask yourself the following questions:
- What do I have that I am truly grateful for?
- What do I want for the future?
- How am I going to accomplish this and when?
- What do I need to leave behind to set me free?
- What is my mantra that will remind me to breakdown any barriers
If you write down your answers down you have the beginnings of your action plan. You will own some tools that will help you take the next steps.
You are still at the tipping point...the momentum is building...You can feel the wind of change tilting the scales... Repeat your mantra,"......." Embrace it, step forward..... 2012 is yours!!!

The RISE! employ-Ability program is tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Our role in this is too provide support and tools to allow the client to take ownership of their situation thus overcome any barriers to progress.
Achievement of the end goal very much depends on the commitment of the client to self develop. One such client was so inspired he achieved employment in six days. The following summary describes how we supported him
This client contacted RISE! because he had been out of work for over a year and was exacerbated and depressed by the lack of progress. He was desperate to find work.
After a telephone assessment by one of our advisers he was booked in for an in-depth appointment. This was a face to face holistic assessment of his current circumstances to identify all of the barriers to employment and achievement of his short and long term goals.
An action plan was discussed, agreed and implemented securing the clients total commitment to making things happen. The action plan encompassed practical tasks as well as confidence building techniques to speed dial the required mindset for presentation at interview.
The adviser kept in contact with the client throughout the week by email and telephone to fast track progression.
The result was three invites to interview by the end of the week. The client attended two interviews within that time and received two job offers. He attended a follow up appointment were he was given an in work benefit breakdown and advised what he was entitled to and how to claim it. He started work the following week.
